Zoom teeth whitening is a professional, in-office bleaching treatment that uses a hydrogen peroxide gel and the Philips Zoom! LED lamp to whiten teeth in a single visit. Because a dentist supervises every step, your gums and lips are protected, the gel strength is professional-grade, and the lamp intensity can be adjusted for comfort.
How the Zoom Whitening Visit Works
- Checkup and cleaning first (highly recommended). Dr. Chaw checks for cavities, gum disease and existing crowns or fillings, and a professional cleaning removes plaque and surface buildup so the gel can whiten evenly. If you’re due, we can schedule your checkup and cleaning before your whitening visit.
- Shade check and prep. We record your starting shade, polish your teeth, and protect your lips and gums with a retractor and gum barrier.
- Gel and lamp. The Zoom! whitening gel is applied and activated by the WhiteSpeed lamp in three 15-minute sessions. An optional fourth session may be added at the dentist’s discretion.
- Rinse and compare. We remove the gel, check your new shade against the original, and can apply a desensitizing treatment if you need it.
- Aftercare. You leave with simple instructions to protect your new shade, plus options for take-home touch-ups.
